It’s clear that French beauty products are better than others. The French know how to do everything, from makeup to skin care to perfumes. As a beauty editor it’s not surprising that my bathroom cabinets are full of French brands like Chanel, La Roche-Posay, Frédéric Malle, and others. But if you asked me what my all-time favourite French beauty product was, I would know right away: it’s a cult body product. Yes, I’m talking about the Almond Shower Oil from L’Occitane.
This body oil that you use in the shower is one of my all-time favourite products. It smells great, makes my skin feel soft and smooth, and makes my daily shower so much better. This product is a must-have if you want to add a little French style to a boring task. Below, I’ve written a full review of the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. Keep reading to see what I thought.
The Equation
You will love this hydrating formula if you have dry skin like I do. It’s a work of art for the senses, full of vitamin E, sweet almond oil, and grapeseed oil. It has a consistency like oil at first, but when it comes into contact with water, it turns into a milky lather that gently cleanses and nourishes the skin. I love using it in both the winter and summer because it makes my skin look more radiant.

The Smell
The smell is just as good as the hydrating formula that makes this product stand out. This body wash or cream is a little more subtle than others I’ve tried, but it has a warming undertone with hints of almond and vanilla that make it feel like a real treat It’s sweet, but in a way that’s classy and never makes you feel sick. I like to put the brand’s Almond Milk Concentrate (£46) on top of it to make it last all day (or night).
How to Use
This is an in-shower product so you use it a little differently than you would body oil. You should smooth it over wet skin while you’re in the shower instead of putting it on after the shower. This will make it turn into a milky lather. I like to take a minute or two to really rub it into my skin before rinsing it off. The light almond scent makes my whole routine feel so much more luxurious.
